EASTERN ILE-DE-FRANCE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

With 40,000 inhabitants expected by 2017, this “new town” model based on the principles of responsible and regulated development, with focus on the individual as its main concern, plus its ongoing economic diversification and first-rate tourist centre, has made Val d’Europe a true driving force of regional development, playing an instrumental role in any future plans regarding Ile-de-France’s long-term projects.

In such a context, and given that eastern Ile-de-France represents a key asset to the entire region’s balance and growth, as well as to maintaining its competitive advantage with other world metropolises, Val d’Europe claims a “new impulse” for eastern Ile-de-France.  The objective must clearly be to restore the position it deserves among regional planning priorities, whether in terms of tourism influence, urban development, economic growth, transport, housing or lifestyle.

It will be possible to attain this objective with support from the polycentric network of mid-sized and new towns in eastern Ile-de-France, as well as through the development of its infrastructure and major projects: the Roissy hub, the A1/A5 motorways’ eastern bypass, improving traffic on the A4 motorway, extension of the RER and TER rail networks, the competitiveness clusters (Advancity – Sustainable town and mobility, Cap Digital, etc.), the university development scheme and more.
